Lotte van Hasselt is the coordinator of the Research School Political History and managing editor of Tijdschrift voor Geschiedenis. In 2025, she earned her PhD from the University of Amsterdam with the dissertation Deserving Refugees? The Evolution of a Concept in the Dutch Republic, 1570–1730s. She previously completed her BA degrees in History and Archaeology, and a research master in History, also at the University of Amsterdam. She is Treasurer of the Association for Political History.
